When all you've known in life were the stories of danger beyond the walls you've been kept. You start to fear everything. You start to wince at the sudden noise that echoes in the distance. The paranoia seeps in, you start feeling eyes watching your every move- like predators stalking their prey. You start to think that wherever you are right now, is the safest place to reside. But in the depths of your heart, to the shaking of your bones, there is still that nagging feeling that something is not right. That something is missing. It doesn't add up. Am I really safe here? Or is there a safer place to run to?
All my life I've known this reality. The constant security given to me by those around me. In my mind, this is all I have known. I thought this is where I am the safest. I thought that no one could harm me here.
