Alex was raised by adoptive parents on Earth, and she always felt unwelcome and unwanted. But growing up, she always wanted to be a detective. The day she became one was the happiest day of her life.
But then, one day, she got the case of her life in a small town where the mayor was killed. She and her partner were immediately sent to investigate...
No clues. No suspects. No murder weapon -- the perfect crime. No one knows what -- or who -- killed the mayor. Whilst looking for clues, Alex meets Kristina, the mayor's best friend. She is ruined by the loss of one so close, but little did Alex know that Kristina was the keeper of an ancient secret from a distant world.

When they're attacked by a half-human half-lion beast, Alex has to decide -- to follow Kristina, or forget about what happened.
