"There's a fine line between memories and reality. He has erased this line by remaking each moment spent together."

°°°°°

When Caleb Ricci makes the commitment to creating a lifestyle of travel, he gives up the one thing that makes him feel alive. Something that gives him a place in the world, you know.

"I am an asshole," was all he could say as he looked at the Globe Theater, where the love of his life was about to play a role in about twenty minutes.

He stared at the entry ticket crumbling in his tight grip. He tried to take a deep breath, but his lungs were already full. The uncertainty of the situation made his heart run a marathon.

Caleb finally gulped the lump in his throat and summoned all his strength and courage as he took a step into the theater.

I won't mess up this time.

I quickly wiped my eyes making my way back into the auditorium, we had to finish blocking Romeo and Juliet. "Oh Haley?" "Hmm?" "Want to go out later? I mean so I can monitor you." Aiden asked sticking his hands in his pocket and shifting his weight. "Monitor me?" "Yeah no relapsing right? " He said giving me a grin. " Sure. I'll just text my mom to let her know, that I'm getting food with you to do lines, and to contact my therapist. Well maybe not in that order, I don't want her to worry." "You're handling this really well." "Well it's happened before, and this time I'm not going to lose anybody." "You got this, stay strong." "Sometimes I think I'm a loose brick on a castle. I feel like I'm expected to be perfect and if I'm not the whole castle will collapse." "So you're like the cement?" "Sure?" "That was an awful attempt at a deep conversation, just saying." "Gee thanks. Once a jerk always a jerk." "You're still going out with me right? " "Of course this is a sappy teenage romance novel. So the naive girl always goes with the jerk." I said rolling my eyes. "I would not be that. I was thinking something like Prince Charming or a star crossed lover." "Well if we would hurry and go in, you would be able to play one." Trying to act like papa. But guess what, Dylan, you never cared about me or what I did!" She screamed, taking steps back towards the stairs. "Fuck you," I cried out, retracting my hand to inspect my injured finger. The small, throbbing pain was a reminder of our confrontation. "See? You can't help but play the damsel in distress." His large hands enveloped mine, inspecting my injured finger with surprising gentleness. Victor's touch ignited both irritation and an inexplicable warmth within me as he rubbed the sore spot with a tenderness that caught me off guard. "You just can't help it."
