After you finish the game you can still live your life inside the game for the npc's have a mind of their own, and can be talked to like normal people. You can leave the game at any given point and still have the choice to start at the same point you logged out at even if it's past the point you finished the game. All the npc's are aware that they are in a game though don't think anything of it since it's simply just like another universe. You can change the outcome of any game if you can change the mind of a certain character. The games fate is in your hands. Either stick to the script or mix it up. In a different world, humanity has been thriving as the ideas of such are merely written in fiction and video games. This world's humanity has built various entertainments around the world as war was still a possibility but thanks to peaceful negotiations things have been rather peaceful. In the realm of the gods, one such god wanted to give hope to the humanity that was nearly wiped out by the Raptures, a chance to have hope. Despite being a god, they also loved to play video games finding them to be quite entertaining which gave them an idea. As such, the god decided to find one such person and have them be reincarnated into the world while giving them a special power to help humanity fight against the Raptures. With such a power given to the chosen individual, they send him to this world to help humanity fight and reclaim the surface. As this new Commander is also.....a Gaming Commander.
