Bucky is gone, vanished, liked a shadow thrown by a passing cloud. And Amelia is left recovering from her recent injuries, the injuires she earned as a result of helping Bucky save his best friend, and now she's left questing the very foundations of their relationship.

However, other matters rise to the surface as the Avengers receive political pressure to join a new system of accountability which causes the team to fall apart. And after finding out that Bucky is apparently involved in another terrorist attack, will their relationship ever be the same?
