Caroline Rogers lost her mum two years ago and her father was sent to jail when she was just seven.  She has spent the last two years with her aunt and uncle, Claire and Richard.  They have decided to move across Canada to a small town called Merrickville near Ottawa.  

She had previously gotten into fights and skipped class.  A lot.

She needs to leave her bad habits behind in Calgary.

She made new friends, but that didn't end well.  

The one thing that helps her after her friendship falls apart is a record store and a kind soul.

UPDATE:
Hey there, I'm probably rewriting The Records That Saved The New Me and changing quite a bit, but I'll keep this version up for now. (I'm still going to finish this one because I hate it when people disappear and never finish a book.)  Then I'll be posting an edited, finished version as another book, but I'll keep some of the same elements.

I didn't really have a vision when I started writing it, but now I have a better idea of what to write for it.  I'll actually plan it out this time.  Sorry for being so indecisive and taking forever to update.  

I've changed a lot as a person and a writer since I started writing on here.

After my overtime was done I clocked out and went to my locker. I changed out of my work coat and disposed of my hair net. Since we were all adults, you would think that childish behavior would be behind us; it wasn't. Brock and Zack both continued to call me the various pet names they had for me like 'the walrus' or 'the blob'. When I was a teenager it used to send me to the bathroom in tears, it would send me over the edge and cause me to want to hurt myself. Since I was older, I didn't let it get to me as much as I used to. I decided I wasn't going to let it tear me down, I was better then they were. I wasn't going to allow bullies to hurt me. As I passed by the group of men, Brock shouted at me, "Hey Walrus, where are you going? Back to the sea?" I rolled my eyes and ignored him. I found that not responding was the best way to deal with them. If I acknowledged their behaviour it only encouraged it. I just kept walking with my head held up high. I didn't care what they thought of me. I was a bigger girl and I wasn't going to allow their words to tear me down.
