Book One of the Chanceling Cheaters. This story follows Seven and her brother Faust, born in a society where your decisions depend on the roll of a dice. On the Day of Dice, she and her brother go among the parliament to roll their dice, and determine where they'll live, their income, their schooling, job, practically everything. The dream that she and her brother will remain in Deckhard, where they grew up, is shattered when Seven rolls a one, signifying she will live her life low in the hard labors of the Peasantries. Meanwhile, Faust rolls a perfect score, bringing him up to join the nobles.
