In the time of ancient Greece were three netherworld goddesses, the furies, Alecto, Tisiphone, and Megaera. They were guardians of the law when the state had not yet intervened or did not exist. Each Fury was served by a family and they bestowed upon those families great gifts. Time went by and the Furies became nothing more than myth, but the families remembered and the gifts remained. Fast forward to the 21st century and the families are doing well. Without the furies to serve the families have faded into the background and found work mostly along the lines of mercenaries and assassins. However, the Alecto branch has broken off from the other two because they think the other two families have strayed from the intended path. The Alectos now find it is their duty to interfere with the missions of the other two families and continue the work the furies had originally tasked them with.
**DISCLAIMER** This story veers far away from actual mythology. The only part of this story that is known mythology is the fact that there were 3 furies. Everything else is of my own design.
