The River Dart
Racing down from the wild moors
Coming to life twice fold in the shadow of weather beaten tors
For East & West Dart writhe and entwine, like lovers they meet, how sweet.
Beneath the clapper bridge of old dartmeet.
Who knows what the Dart has in store.
Through ancient forest it meanders and pours. All its tributaries as fast as the last
Ready for the waterfall it tips over the edge, down to Totnes there's no time to rest.
But soon the Dart will approach the sea.
Where the mouth is wide and subject to tide
Time to rest before greeting the sea..
