With half of the weekend already gone, you make your way home right after getting out of the campus. Along the way, you stop on your tracks as you spot on envelope lying on the ground. Curious as to what's inside, you pick it up and take it with you.

Perverse Discovery by nfsulli

This is a series of short stories inspired by a friend. After buying a new house his mom found a letter (random scribbling?) left behind in a back closet. The scrap of folded paper had warnings about demons that lived in the walls and forced him to sell his house. Needless to say it was an unsettling discovery. Pair that with my own personal experience of buying a house sight unseen and moving (literally) halfway across the country in the middle of a pandemic I had enough material to put together a short collection of stories. Each story opens with an item discovered in a house followed by either the origin of the item or the discovery of the item. All focus around the experience of someone moving. I write these for fun (there are more coming, just editing at the moment) and my own entertainment during the time of social distancing. I hope you find something relatable or at the very least gets you thinking. Enjoy! PS - Although I would not consider this overly graphic there are some more mature scenes and use of adult language.

I watched as my boyfriend saved another woman when a rival club shot up the clubhouse. He never even checked on me as he took her to the hospital -- and I almost died. She never knew her life would be full of such horrors. She didn't know that falling in love is filled with so much pain and misery. She fell for his innocence but he was the devil in disguise. She tried to run only to get captured by him and to be taken back to that tiny place which is filled with her pain and screams. It is a nightmare He tortured me in every single way. I was petrified, I was living in the hope that someone would come and save me but, nobody did. He knew every single thing about me. "He knew my every.....weakness"

It was just a normal morning waiting at my school bus stop until everything changed. A rag pressed firmly over my mouth and nose and I was dragged away fighting a losing battle against my attacker as well as my own body. Now I'm in a dark room with no way out and nothing but my thoughts to keep me company. Left to think about what's going to happen when you finally walk down those steps.

I was once the girl he supposedly loved but now... I'm just an object of his torments. "You really think you'll be able to leave me?" The sinister look in his eyes keep me alert. "No," I answer truthfully as the blood dripping down my skirt. "You will keep me alive till my heart bleeds for you. Until you break me completely and that's when I'll take my last breath that takes me away from the man who created hell on earth for me; and that's when I'll leave you, forever."
