Lacey Morgan's dark past has been what made her drop out of high school, made her move from state to state, running from it. She left when she was barely sixteen, but three years later, she's back, missing her town in the midst of Arizona, though just as she gets back she realizes there's killings of innocent girls. All Redheaded and female. It's a cereal killing to be sure, but why? When a high in authority vampire comes into town, he finds out soon enough, and it has nothing to do with the human world, the killings were meant as a sign, a sign that someone was looking. And all the signs point to Lacey and her unknown gifts that intrigue the vampire instantly, bringing a lot of unwanted complications, for the both of them.
