I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers, hoping that all that hard work and effort I put into this would pay off. Whatever name will be announced will change my entire life. The room was silent, filled with so much tension and I only heard the rapid beating of my heart.

Hi. My name is Tegan Evans. I am an average American. But in school, I am labeled as the 'loser', 'nerd', and a 'wallflower'. And in my senior year, I am changing all that.

Rebecca Harris, the 'Queen' of the school (a.k.a my ex-best friend) and I made a bet. Whoever will win the title of 'prom queen' gets to stay at Milpitas High, receive lots of attention and you know, the whole package. And the loser, will be kicked out of the school, forgotten and never to return again.

And I, as stubborn as always, accepted the challenge. With my saved up money from the hard work in McDonald's last year, my two best friends, and my pride, I didn't have any idea what I was up against.

So let the games begin and may the best prom queen win.
