"Then I saw it again. The shadowed figure was there when I turned around, but was at the bottom of the slope. My feet skipped back then there was no more floor. I remembered the same time my head moved to where my feet had been, that I'd been standing on the apex of a steep and high slope. I went down. I tumbled backward and ended up rolling and rolling. The world churned around me, but levelled out abruptly as I crashed into the base of a tree at the slopes underside."

Come," he beckoned gently to the edge. His clawed finger is gently hooked onto the end of her dress, guiding her to the edge of the bridge. "Let me have you, let me be yours, and you'll never be alone. Let us be together body and soul. All you have to do... is jump."

She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. I jumped.

You have just finished moving into this unremarkable, remote town called Blighton, located at the edge of a beautiful forest. Looking forward to a fresh start in a great neighborhood and close community, you make yourself at home in your new place. Not even one week after arriving, something strange happens upon returning home from work. You discover a small brown package in your mail, with neither sender nor recipient stated on it. After unwrapping the paper, a grey booklet is revealed, imprinted with the questionable title "Blighton Citizen Guidebook". Flipping through the pages, you quickly come to the conclusion that either this package has been delivered to the wrong person, or someone is playing a lousy prank on you. Is this supposed to scare you? Without giving it a second thought you toss the booklet aside, paying it no mind for a couple of days. But somehow you can't bring yourself to disregard it entirely. Something about the whole thing does not feel right to you. It seems way to elaborate for a simple joke. Why would someone go through the effort of compiling a bunch of ghost stories, just to trick some random newcomer? Eventually, your curiosity gets the better of you and the booklet finds itself in your hands once again. With a sigh you sit down at your table and open this supposed "guidebook". You begin reading the first page... --- This story represents a personal challenge in which I tried to write a short entry for each day of October. 'What did i just get myself into?' I think to myself and sip my hot coco. I look out over the land and see a figure in the distance and i try to get a good look at it but it's too far to see. I blink and it's gone. I look around to see if i can see it again and it's right below the balcony. 'WHAT THE F**K IS THAT?!!!' I think in my head and trip going backwards into the house and hit the floor hard with a thud. The area around me slowly develops into darkness and i black out unconscious. She opened her mouth to scream, to yell so her pain would leave but her voice disappeared. Nothing came out. She blamed herself for everything, she could have stopped them, done something to help, but no, she stood there, frozen. She clenched her fists. She grabbed what she could and threw it.
