Helena Alice King falls into Wonderland. A creepy striped cat tells everyone she is the descendant of the Alice that liberated them from the harsh rule of the evil Queen of Hearts so many years ago. Wonderland is once more in trouble. A mysterious Black Parade has invaded the forests and creatures, bringing darkness and misery to the land. Or, the inhabitants of Wonderland seem to think so. Helena agrees to help them so she can search for her lost friend. Will she be able to save Wonderland and find her friend, or will the Black Parade spread and darken the once bright land?

There are a few things you need to know about Wonderland. First off, completely misnamed. It should be Terrorland. People don't just accidentally tumble into Wonderland, it sucks them in. There is no following of cute white rabbits with pocket watches. Wonderland is dangerous and you can lose a lot more than your head if you're not careful. Second, the Hearts are in control, but they shouldn't be. The throne of Wonderland rightfully belongs to the Spade heir. But he's currently missing. Third, and probably most important, is that Madison Hatter is NOT a native of Wonderland. He was yanked through a mirror many years ago and has been trying to survive Wonderland ever since. Now he has an idealistic young Real-Worlder on his hands and a rebellion in his heart. Mad is going to remove that Heart Queen if it's the last thing he does. She's the one who stole him from his life all those years ago and he's been waiting for the moment when he can tear her life to shreds in repayment.
