Sometimes writing out facts and truth in the form of a story hurts too much. Poetry is whatever you decide it to be. The author may find different meaning than the reader, but they both get something out of it. Reality is painful to endure. Sometimes it's better to use a metaphor. Twist it into something new.

This is from a girl with far too many words to say, in the hope that it will cheer you up during those rainy days. 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐏𝐓 - 'It's consuming me. I'm sorry. I'll miss all of you, and I'll miss the occasional happy peaceful mornings when I did not know Truth. I'll miss the solace of lonely nights and weekends spent adoring sunflowers and blooming petals. Life experiences
I've been through my own struggle, whether it was created in my head by way of prolonged sadness or bitterness/resentment, or if I was struggling with things I had no control over like failed friendships, a broken heart, or family drama. This is my advice to you based off of my life experiences.
