Wanda wants to let Bucky in, but she's afraid too. She's scared to lose another person she cares about. Bucky is determined to win Wanda over one way or another.

But disaster strikes as soon as Bucky and Wanda are about to confess their feelings. A wanted madman who escaped from Hydra years before, kidnaps Bucky and reverts him back to The Winter Soldier.

It's The Winter Soldier vs The Avengers. Wanda is against all of it, but she'll do everything she can to save the man she cares about. She is not going to lose another loved one.

*The story has been edited and revised* Bucky Barnes had finally ran away from HYDRA, but he was in hiding. He was too worried, and a bit scared, to go to his childhood friend, Steve Rogers, so he tried to hide from the blonde as well. Bucky had jumped from place to place for a while, running into HYDRA agents every few months. He was tired of running, and he hoped soon he'd be able to find a place to stay; a place to have somewhat of a home and to finally start remembering who he was and what happened in his life. After a year of being on the run, Bucky decided to hideout in a small town in Ireland. The town had a semi-small population, and the people seemed to mind their own business. He found himself a cheap apartment, number 101, and he was easily able to hide from the world while in the small living area. *************** In apartment 102, lived a woman by the name of Harlow Simpson. Harlow was a sweet girl who moved to Ireland years ago with her brother Wade. Wade had run away from home because he had accidentally had a daughter, Jodie, a few years back. Harlow had decided to move with her brother and his new born daughter, so she could help him take care of her. When Jodie was two, Wade decided to join an underground fight club, but only a year later, he was killed in a scuffle with a man twice his size over a bet. Harlow was given full custody of Jodie, and she and the small child moved to the apartment to get away from all of the sad memories of Wade. Three years later, Harlow and Jodie were surprised to see a man moving into the small apartment next to theirs. The apartment was very small, and from what Harlow seen, the man really didn't have much to move in. Each day, Harlow and Jodie would watch the man leave, only for him to come back with a small bag of fruit. Harlow was determined to help the man, and Jodie was determined to finally make a friend that didn't think she was weird...

Despite their best efforts to regain the trust of the world, the Avengers are still met with criticism. With every move they make under close scrutiny, they find themselves treading lightly to avoid more incidents akin to Ultron and the tragedy of Sokovia. When a new team of superheroes is entangled in disaster and an Avengers mission goes wrong, the government steps in with new legislation that would force all superheroes to register, and be overseen, by the government. Eager to right the wrongs of his past, Tony Stark is quick to join the government's efforts, believing that oversight will ensure that more disasters do not happen at the hands of the Avengers or any other super-powered individuals. In opposition of this is Steve Rogers, who believes that government oversight would enable politicians to decide who the villains are, forcing superheroes to become nothing more than political pawns. When the King of Wakanda is assassinated and Steve's old friend turned enemy, Winter Soldier, is implicated things become even more complicated. Forced to choose a side in a civil war, Dean Allen can't stop thinking about a far greater threat that lurks. Please note that this is an installment in an ongoing series. Reading out of order may cause confusion. The reading order for the series is: -Worthy -Avengers: Some Assembly Required -Love You to Asgard and Back -Eternal Night -Avengers: Peace in Our Time -Avengers: More Than a Mortal -Fantastic Four -Avengers: Divided We Fall -Asgardian Twilight -Avengers: Destiny Arrives -Captain America: Love in a Time of Loss -Avengers: Whatever It Takes -Avengers: A Wedding At Last -Avengers: Vengeance -Avengers: A Darker Shade of Scarlet

Elizabeth Maeve Barnes is the younger sister of James Buchanan Barnes, better known as Bucky to his 17-year-old sister and best friend, Steve Rogers. For her, she has aspired to be a soldier like the two young men but being a girl in the 1940s who was only seen fit to live at home and make a man happy, her dream seemed ludicrous. But, that changed after her long-time crush became Captain America and her brother died. She was recruited to stop Hitler with Steve before he disappeared into the ice. She didn't know what to do after until Peggy Carter told her she could take a replica super-soldier serum but with the price of being preserved in ice overtime and only allowed out to complete missions for S.H.E.I.L.D. Or so, that's what she thought. Fast forward to 66 years later and she is let out for the thirteenth time to ease the found alive Steve. Their old feelings for each other begin to rekindle as they face the many enemies of the world with The Avengers and discover something they thought they lost a long time ago. DISCLAIMER: I do not own the MCU characters, only Elizabeth Maeve Barnes.
