Meet Dylan James Matthews. The twin of Lindsey Heart Matthews the most popular girl in school. See Dylan is what you call "Invisible" if you will. She's just that girl who you see around school who is always quiet and always has her head down staring at the ground. I mean she is so invisible her own parents forget that she even exists but one day she meets someone who shows her that she doesn't have to be in her sisters shadow because shadows disappear at night.

I look at California. She sits on my lap in the circle of us pot heads. She's not what I expected. She smokes she's the most sarcastic person I've ever met. She's smart but hates school. She's a girly girl who hates dresses. She defies logic in so many different ways I expect her to sprout a horse tail and start flying. Heck when we first talked Tuesday she called me handsome and looked confused herself. She acts like she has no secrets, and maybe she doesn't, but there's something different about her. She holds confidence yet she's shy. She smokes even though she's supposed to be the typical good girl. I'm determined to find out what she's hidding if it's the last thing I do. Only crow members can get crow tattoos and only descendants of the original crow can have the green eye. By tattoo that's on my lower back has a red eye. The red eye means non blood related member. But I have a smaller one with a blue eye beside it. The blue eye means leader. But all of that changes when I meet, more like bump into someone who's special. ... DOOR OPENS. "Naomi Satchel!" my mother yells as she comes blaring through the doors. "Yes?" I say as I still lie under the covers. My mother pulls my cover from my body and tosses it on the floor. I quickly sit up in my bed and glare at her. "Get your ass up now you have half an hour left before your first-period starts and you better not be late," she demands. "Mom, this isn't my school. This isn't my home. I don't want to go." I whine and beg my mother at the same time to let me stay home. What was I thinking? My mom has an image to uphold being this perfect mother who loves and cares about her little baby girl.
