Since I can remember, everything's either been black or white. Not that I couldn't see color, just people and things, were always bland. There was nothing to distinguish anyone or anything. Everyone lived their same black and white lives; never realizing there was a whole world of color right before them. If their eyes could only see it. They were all the same- Colorless. Metaphorically colorless of course.
But one fortunate day I met someone who was not quite the same. She was fiercely independent yet utterly tame. She was neither colorful nor colorless. She was grey. Metaphorically grey of course.

- Ok, ok. I think I've dropped enough hints about the fact that I'm 'different'. I guess I should spill the beans. When I was born, I had a rare cancer- mum had told me this. She didn't tell me anything else about my birth, other than that the kemo therapy went wrong. The doctors were testing a new serum that didn't cooperate with my blood type.
