Rebecca or Becca as her best friend calls her has all ways been the loner child. When she was just eight years old her parents were killed in a car accident killed exactly on impact. So the state sent her of cores to an orphanage. Not one home she was sent to ever lasted they always sent her back. But unfortunately one family, the Luther’s, keep her but not for the right reasons; the state gives the family a certain amount of money to take care of her but none of the money goes to her. They keep it and use it for them and their children. Becca gets the old hand me downs, she doesn’t own anything new. She’s been with them since she was ten and they do terrible things to her.

Becca is seventeen and is really getting sick and tired of the Luther’s. She is getting tired of all the scars, bruises, and the broken bones. She gives herself a time limit on life. Yes what an ungodly thing to do, but she’d rather be in his hands then in the hands of the Luther’s and suffering. She leaves a note to her best friend but he finds it. But is it in time to save her, or does he get it a second too late?

Hailey Austin was a happy 7 year old. She had two loving parents, Sara and Michael. She had a safe home and environment to grow up in. One day, her Father picked her up from school with terrible and shocking news. Her Mother had died in a car accident while visiting Hailey's grandparents. Hailey and Micheal slowly adjusted to being alone with eachother, and eventually got over the sad loss. Now it's 10 years later. Hailey is now 17 years old. Her Father had gotten remarried when Hailey was in late grade 1, to a nice British woman named Shannon, and Hailey now had a step-brother and a little half-sister. She was continuing to live her life happily. But as November approaches, Hailey is being reminded of her mother's death, 10 years ago. She began to become stressed and closed off. On top of that, people have been leaving her notes in her locker telling her to die or change schools. She doesn't know whether to seek help from her friends, or to leave them out of her home life. I mean, it's in the past. It doesn't matter anymore. Right..?
