Just four years prior, the Titanic had sunk and brought lots of attention to Morgan Robertson's book "Futility," which tells a story with similarities to reality that are too great to ignore. As World War I rages on in Europe, attention has been drawn to one of Robertson's more recent stories: Beyond the Spectrum.

I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. They died of disease days later. I found their bodies by the river. But I guess this is my life now, surviving with a scared boy, a pair of twins and trying to make it to the next day.
