The night Jessie plans to finally give her virginity to Cole she finds out a devastating secret. Cole has been seeing someone behind her back. After learning this news Jessie vows never to date another man again, but when her brother Brandon introduces her to his newest friend Brett her body and mind have other ideas. Brandon is extremely protective of her and she knows she is playing with fire by wanting one of his friends.

After his ex had him arrested and charged on a bogus assault charge Brett had no other option but to leave his life behind. After renting a little place in the small town of Cedar Crescent, he gets himself a construction job with a local company owned and operated by his new friend Brandon. With his past hidden, Brett finally starts to feel like things are coming around until the night that Brandon introduces him to his younger sister Jessie. Brett finds himself very attracted to this girl, but is unsure how to even go about getting involved with her, not only is Brandon his boss, but he is also his friend.

As Jessie and Brett come to terms with the fact that they are attracted to one another they decide to start seeing each other behind Brandon back. Just as things are starting to go well, Cole decides that he wants Jessie back and will stop at nothing to get her to return to him. When Jessie starts to feel like she is being followed, and starts receiving disturbing phone calls and random packages at the door she turns to Brandon for help. After learning of the events that resulted in their breakup Brandon enlists the help of Brett to get rid of Cole. After Jessie learns of Brett's past, and Brandon on the warpath to get rid of Cole, she fears for everyone. Are the secrets Brett is holding back enough to end their relationship or are they strong enough to make it through.
