Seventeen year old Lia Marcom is a university student working on her PhD in behavioral psychology. Her family is something of a town curiosity-she and all of her siblings have been homeschooled by their mother and they have all completed undergraduate and advanced degrees well ahead of traditionally schooled children.

Regional FBI Special Agent Todd Coffey has read about the Marcoms and thinks that Lia might be just the thing he needs to solve his latest serial case. Several girls, all fitting a profile, have disappeared in the past few months, and Coffey thinks that they may have an internet predator on their hands. He thinks that Lia's coursework in behavioral psych with a focus on internet anonymity will give his team an idea of how the missing girls are being selected and targeted. Lia's being only a few years older than the missing girls can't hurt either.

Lia--and a computer hacker named Trey--are drawn into the online world of teen girl secrets as she works through chatlogs and texts, snapchats and Instagram posts. But the deeper she delves the more likely she is to become the killer's next victim. What will happen when they finally meet F2F?
