Brayden Nickols is the softball prodigy at Eastwood – with her, the team will go to playoffs. Everyone sees the blonde haired, blue-eyed girl that everyone wants to be.

That’s not who she is though. It’s all just a façade. At school she may seem like she has the perfect life, but it’s far from it. At home she has to make sure her mother doesn’t drink herself into a stupor, make sure her little brother does his homework and is out of the wrath of her father. And as for her father, she has to take all of his hits and his words, because it’s the only way her brother will be safe.

So, you see, her life is far from perfect, but her best friends, her team, and maybe the cute football player will help her through it all.

This is a story about hard work, betrayal, determination, and love that can get through anything.

PG-15
This story will contain some language, and will focus a little bit on the concept of abuse. I do not support it at all or anything like that. I don't claim to know anything about it either. I do not mean to offend by having this in my story.
It's not too bad - there will be a lot of lighthearted moments, and romance, so it's not exactly a sad story either :)

Not every blonde is stupid. In the South if you're a beautiful, blonde, blue-eyed girl high expectations are made. Either you're not extremely smart, so you find yourself a suitable husband to take care of you. Or you are smart and you just pretend to be dumb so you find yourself a suitable husband to take care of you. All her life Avery Skinner has been told what to do and how to do it- by everyone. By her mother, the girls she calls friends, the guys in school, teachers, family, even Mark the mailman. Needless to say, she's sick of it. Its time Avery took control of her life or at least get a firm grip on the sucker. She's loved football ever since she was a little girl. Yet she could never play because ladies aren't supposed to do such barbaric things. Especially in the South- unless its a rodeo and you're wearing those ridiculously tight outfits that show you're navel or showing you can hold your liquor. Avery has longed to be on the field, throwing the ball instead of cheering on the team her dad coaches that can't seem to win. Then her best friend Austin forces Avery to and for sometime everyone is fooled. But the truth can only be hidden for so long. The moment the townsfolk of Stonehenge, Alabama learned it was a girl under that helmet, was the moment true colors showed. It hasn't been easy and it won't get any better but Avery is here to play. * Avery is going to face REAL life problems, and not nice people. She's going to deal with sexual harassment, mean words, rude people, pregnancy, injuries, steroids, etc.. In this story I want to exemplify how sexist and cruel humans can be. There will be hard moments, but I want to put it out there because it IS a serious problem. Harsh language and such will be present. You have been warned, don't read it then complain. Given their success and the attention on them some skeletons from their past are bound to reintroduce themselves putting a dent into what should be their happily ever after. Navigating only seeing each other half the year would've just been too easy, wouldn't it? ***This story will include heavy topics, I will do my best to include trigger warnings where I feel they are needed however it will be based on what I FEEL so I may not tag everything that you as a reader may find triggering, (There's nothing wrong with things triggering you that I don't tag everyone just has different things and it'd be impossible for me to know all of my readers potential triggers) topics that will be included in this story and in-depth more so than the first book are; Domestic Violence/Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Death, among other things. HERE IS YOUR WARNING in advance so you don't have to read if you feel as though you may not be able to handle those topics.*** ***This is a work of fiction and should be treated as such, any depictions of real-life people are in no way a reflection of how they are in real life, their thoughts, views or opinions nor should they be treated as if they were. Jourdan Mathews has a secret, and she knows she needs to take this one to the grave. * * * Her life was never complicated: a college student with a close family, good friends, and a plan for her future as a doctor. Had that night had never happened, she might even have been called ordinary. But we're not made by ordinary moments. Now in her senior year, Jourdan is in freefall after a catalyzing summer that turned everything upside-down. Her friends know she's in trouble, and her parents hope they've done enough to save her, but Jourdan doesn't feel anything anymore. They say moving on happens slowly, but something needs to change fast before life moves on without her. Ryder Harris considers his life to be the farthest thing from "ordinary." He isn't just the kind-of-good basketball player that made him popular in high school. He is the kind-of-great that comes along once in a generation, a fact that has propelled him on a course which only attempts to reach for the stars. If you ask him, this isn't luck or special talent. No, Ryder Harris makes a point to focus himself, to remain undistracted. He's got priorities, and at the very top of his list is being drafted into the NBA. That dream is very close to becoming a reality his senior year, so close he can almost taste it. But the universe has a nasty habit of giving us what we need, not what we want. * * * part I - Jourdan & Ryder * * * Every Saint Needs a Sinner. Copyright. © May 2022. All Rights Reserved.

Reillyn Cole had experienced it all. Grief. Pain. Heartbreak. And yet, still, the cruel world continued to throw hurdles in her unendingly winding path. Elias Ryker had grown up under tyranny. Despite problems of his own, he becomes the most likely to be able to save her. And she was the last anyone expected to actually want to save him. But she did. She wanted him. He wanted her. But fate didn't want them together. Now, they must navigate an overprotective best friend, a homicidal father, a psychotic brother, and a hilariously crazy grandma. But, will Rei ever get her happy ending? - - - "Boxer Boy, you don't really have a choice in the matter, you either help me or I squeal about your very illegal activities," I obviously wasn't gonna tell but he didn't know that so I silently prayed he wouldn't call my bluff. He leaned down so he was eye level with me, he smelt like apples too. "Why do you wanna learn how to fight tigru?" I tried my hardest not to let my gaze flicker down to his bare chest, but it was right there and very distracting. He cleared his throat making me shoot my gaze back to him as I hoped my voice didn't come out shaky, "that's my business, just like the reason you fight is yours." His jaw sharpened as he straightened and seemed to contemplate what his next move would be. I took the time to declutter my thoughts and focus on what I needed from him; fighting lessons, the opportunity to save myself one final time. - - - "I love the book overall. It kept me on the edge of my seat and it was full of emotion! I can't wait for the sequel to come out! This book had something for everyone and anyone; if you enjoy reading, you'll enjoy this book!" - Mackenzie "I read a lot and this is one of the best books I've read. If you are this young writing this good I cannot wait to follow your career." - danielchristinatin

"'Bye.' I say after Edwin's kiss. He gives me a small smile that honestly looks more like a grimace. It makes me a little uncomfortable having him kiss me in the library. Edwin walks away, and someone standing in the corner of my vision makes me turn in my seat. A tall, muscular man is standing there, his arms crossed, staring at me. He's got dark brown hair, perfect eyebrows, and soft brown eyes. Honestly, he's gorgeous. And since I've read, and edited, about five articles about him, I recognize him immediately. Dane Sawyer. He's the best pitcher on our baseball team. He's hoping to go pro, although I'm not totally sure what the process is surrounding that, since I don't retain much of the information from the articles that I read about him. I know that he's also a junior, and that his girlfriend is hot as fuck. I've seen them together on campus. They're hard to miss because they are easily one of the most attractive couples that I've ever seen. I'm convinced that I must be hallucinating, because he makes eye contact and walks towards me. 'That was awkward.'" ~~~ Junior year is starting off chaotic for Mackenzie Brooks as she steps into her role as the editor-in-chief of the college's newspaper. She's smart, focused on school, the paper, and her TA responsibilities. Junior year should be starting off easy for Dane Sawyer. He's the star pitcher of the baseball team; attractive, athletic, desirable, with a hot girlfriend. Unfortunately, he's also failing computer science which is the one thing he sees that is in the way of his pro career. Different in more ways that one, when the two run into each other in the library, it's an immediate disaster. But when Dane convinces Mackenzie to be his tutor, both of their lives begin to change.
