Sometimes you might have everything that you have always wanted in this world, your life might seem so close to perfection, and all your dreams might come true. But still, you feel like there is something missing, you can feel it but you have no idea what this thing might be. People spend all their lives searching for that one particular thing that can make them feel alive, but they never find it. It doesn't mean it isn't there, it is right in front of their eyes but they never see it, and maybe some people found that thing but unfortunately they couldn't keep it.
This particular thing is different from one person to another, it might be a person, a project, a place, a song. For me, it was a person, a guy who swept me off my feet, he made me feel alive, he made my life magical. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who found that thing but couldn't keep it. I even denied it because it was totally wrong.

He made me feel perfect, but he also made me feel useless
He made me feel like I'm in heaven, but he also made me feel like I'm in hell
He made me feel safe in his arms , but he also made me feel insecure
He made me feel right, but he also made me feel wrong
He made me feel all kind of emotions : love/hate, sadness/happiness, confusion/certainty, safety/insecurity, good/bad. There's something about him that is inordinate and dangerous, but it attracts me in a romantic and sensual, and strange way

Our main character is going to learn that your powers do not define who you are as a person. Arion Griffin lives in a society where people with light magic are 'good' and people with dark magic are 'bad'. He comes from a long line of dark magic. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted.
