Steve Rogers, otherwise known as Captain America, has been finding it a bit of a stretch adjusting to the new modern day life after being frozen for years on end. One day, he meets a young woman at a coffee shop. He buys her some coffee and the two of them casually chat for a while until she has to leave. As she walks out, she promises to repay him, though something in her eyes as she says it makes him suspicious. She's hiding something from him, and he can tell he'll be seeing her again soon, but will it be as a friendly coffee conversation like before, or will it be over something more sinister?

Bruce Banner is still missing, Thor is off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, and the Avengers are scattered. Nevertheless, she's perfectly okay with being alone. She always has been. Knowing that Steve is alone, however? It worries her. And when HYDRA is involved, being alone may not be an option. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This fanfiction takes place after Civil War and before Infinity War. I am WELL aware that Avengers Endgame is probably going to invalidate every word that I write here, but whatever. I just wanted to write this. A few years of homeschooling later, my dad decided public school would be more beneficial for my childhood development. I'm obviously not good with new people, so this idea didn't thrill me. I somehow ended up making friends though. Things started to get weird after I woke up in hospital, people started looking at me weirdly and my dad felt distant. I start getting close with Peter, but I over hear something strange in the Avengers compound about myself, so I end up going to Peter's, trying to escape from the truth of happened many years ago. Will I run away with Peter and will everything go to plan? Or will the truth come out, leading to a relationship I'd never expected to happen?
