In a world at war, Maggie Doherty is a young woman training to be a nun at the Holy Cross Abbey in County Tipperary, Ireland. Having lost her mother at a young age, her father brought her to the convent when she was just sixteen years old. She is all set to take her next vows to become a Novice, and then finally, a nun. But is this really the life she is meant to live? Everyone around her (except for her father) don't seem to think so. And what happens when she meets a dashing French pilot, who is in Ireland on business? Will she remain at the Abbey and take her vows, or will she give in to her hearts desires? A beautiful love story with the backdrop of World War 2.

Maria O'Leary lives in a small town in Georgia, during World War II. Nothing exciting has happened to her in twenty years of life. That is until she meets the new boy in town. That was the moment her life would change. Before, all she wanted was for her brother to come home from the war safely, after meeting Tony Martin all she wanted was for him and her family to stay alive, no matter the cost to herself. Her mother is worried about the toll Tony is taking on her daughter. Mostly about her small food intake. Tony had never really had friends and planned on never falling in love due to the danger it would put them in. But he can't help falling in love with the kind, gentle, firecracker that is Maria. But even he can't protect her from the man he owes money to. And after enlisting, Tony can't protect Maria from her own insecurities and body issues. War doesn't always involve guns and bombs.
