Faded

Amber Gale lives a strange life; Her best friends are the floorboards and the books, her sister can see spirits and her eyes are gold.
After discovering she has read all the books in the lower section of the library, her floorboard friends convince her to venture up the ladder and look at the forbidden books. They are mostly all books about a force known to most as Magic, which is only owned by some. Soon after starting to read these books, she starts being able to do strange things, which she soon discovers is her own magic.
With her newfound skill she decides to start helping around; cleaning, fixing and being kind and helpful in general. But just as soon as she gets her skills, things start going wrong and her magic starts to fade.
