Morning Stroll

Being an amateur writer has its days, but mostly life is quite humdrum for someone like me. For a guy who's in his mid-twenties, single, and lives near the city, one would expect me to be more acquainted with the nightlife, hitting up bars and partying with friends until daybreak. I prefer the quiet though. I live in my own condo unit downtown, with nobody for company except Padfoot, my Labrador. Some days I have friends over, while some days I enjoy the solitude, blasting smooth jazz from my speakers while I try to squeeze out more stories from my brain. Pretty ordinary, right? So I guess you can imagine my shock a few hours earlier, because no way in hell did I expect my day to end up like this.
