Autism 2020: Autism Awareness and Acceptance Piece, de ScaryAiry89

6 Parts Piece for Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month 2020 titled "A Female on the Spectrum: The Differences That Make Autism; More a Superpower than a Disability" National Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month is April. 2020 theme is celebrating differences. So I used that as inspiration to come up with the title of this year's piece. All the quotes are labeled by who said them to best of my abilities and all photographs were taken by me. This is the fourth year that I have done something for Autism Awareness Month. But more people on the spectrum are doing more things to make sure April is Autism Acceptance Month. There is so many reason why I actually make sure to share my story and definitely with what is going on in the world, we all could use some more understanding kindness, and love for way we are. I am me. You are you. People have a nasty habit of labeling and judging others. It's an instinct that everyone has and we do it all the time, without realizing it sometimes. These labels do not define us. Those judgments do not blind us of our true self. We know deep down that we are different but some people hide that. Some people think the only way to fit in is to be someone else. Some people want to change for others. Some people think it's best to hide thief true self from those around them. But you are all special. You don't need to change who you are. You are perfect. But sometimes people don't see that. They need help. So I'm here to try to help. I'm here to help you see how wonderful you are. I want you to be confident. I want you to be you.

Autism. A word most people avoid. All those negative connotations. Stupid. Weird. Retarded. Helpless. But that's not the whole story. Not two different sides of the same coin but more sides beyond. Drama. Drama. Drama. That pretty much describes my life. I mean when your living with your 7 older brothers, 5 cousins, best friends, and a 3 month old baby, life can't get any better! And then there's school. Well school is school. Loaded with a the different 'groups' of kids. The geeks, popular, etc. And last but not least, my parents. We don't even know where they are most the time since they go on business trips after business trips. They come for for a week at the most and leave again. My family is not rich, but not poor. We have more than enough money to get the nice things we want, but we have to earn them. My life sounds pretty interesting huh?
