My heart was racing as I ran, my feet pounding the earth beneath me. I risked a quick glance back only to see him no longer following me, but I knew his games. I continued to push on, my breathing becoming ragged.
I saw him a split second before he hit me, sending us both tumbling to the ground, but his strong arms encased me, helping to soften my landing.
We landed in a heap, our bodies intertwined. I let out a breath as I realized I was on top of him, and I quickly tried to squirm away. His strong hands grabbed my hips and held me in place. My heart began to race again as he sat up, his breath fanning my face.
