The Things You Never Hear

Blaire has never been afraid of the dark. She preferred it that way. Her small rural town held many secrets, secrets that should have stayed silent. When a force worth reckoning awakens, will Blaire be strong enough to face it? Ignorance is bliss, until ignorance almost gets you killed.

As everyone started to manhandle me, the bowl of blood and herbs was pressed against my lips. They had ground the herbs down into a fine dust so the blood would be easy to swallow. It was only about a mouthful. The potion seemed to burn my mouth as they poured it in. I gagged a little as I tried to swallow it, I could feel a trickle of blood running down my chin.
