Not much happens in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Riley O' Donnell has lived there her whole life. She's got straight brown hair, and piercing blue eyes. Taylor Logan has known Riley since their freshman year of high school. Taylor's got brown hair and stunning green eyes. And she's got a growing crush for Riley.
When 19 year old Sam McLaughlin blows in from Chicago, Illinois, and the two meet first at the park, and then at the fair, Riley immediately falls in love, yet she thinks she's as straight as a pencil. Sam's got blonde hair, and striking grey eyes. She loves to draw, and play her ukulele. Sam tries to ignore Riley, but will she be able to ignore her feelings, and fight for Riley at the same time?

Riley's past isn't something most kids go through. Bad things happened, but when she got older, her dad decided it was best to move, and get away from something that seemed to haunt Riley. They moved from Arizona to California. About 1/4 into her junior year, Riley had to go to a new school, and make new friends. She didn't really care about having friends though, as long as she was able to play soccer, she would be okay. Soccer had always been there for her, when her mom died, when she didn't have anyone else, when she was in a bad mood. It was always there for her to play. She didn't need anyone else. That changed when she met Brooke Eckmann. Brooke is also a junior in high school, and is the varsity teams goalie. When they first meet on the field, it was something different. She couldn't stop thinking about her. It was something both of them had never felt before.
