Sixteen year old, Rubik's cube wielding Stan Oakley is known as a back boy, someone who is not as known as they should be, unpopular, out of fashion, commonly called Loner. Stan and his class went to a mysterious town known for many disappearances of people alive and re-appearances of people dead but most are never seen again. Stan didn't want to go on this rediculous trip but he would do anything to put his grades up, but soon everthing goes down hill as his teachers are killed and his class was being pursued by an unknown killer. To survive Stan uses his unique solving ability to find a way out but also to know who is killing people while keeping himself hidden from everyone for an unusual reason.
