Rylee is bullied every day by the same group of boys for being a band nerd and used to suffer from anorexia. Mark's parents divorced and lost his brother and father, leaving him alone with his Mom. Henry pretends like he has it all, while he struggles with academics. Emme wishes for a normal family, but only has her abusive father. As Junior year progresses, the 6 teens paths cross in ways they would never think. Friendships are made, renewed, and destroyed. *This story may cover some sensitive topics*

But with the chaos at home from her mom, her stepdad and step-siblings, it feels impossible. School is her only escape, a safe haven she shares with her three best friends. They keep each other sane without even realizing it. It's always been the four of them. Until they meet them. Until she meets ℎ𝑖𝑚. Booker stopped caring a long time ago. Between taking care of his sick grandma, dodging bullets and keeping up with school, life is just something he's pushing through. The only things holding him together? His grandma and a stupid promise he made in the seventh grade. Neither of them is looking for more, but sometimes, the people you least expect become the ones you need the most.
