Mary Carter is your ordinary teenage girl, she had an ordinary life that she must say she disliked. Ever since she turned into a creature-most likely a Vampire her life changed forever. She has a little secret, but she never told anyone. A secret she continued.
But what happens when the guy that changed her from a jolly to a very secretive person has an interest on her? They had their past of course and that's why now Mary can't seem to forgive him, because of him she now thinks of herself as nothing. Don't get me wrong but this boy also has a secret of his own, one that he can't keep any longer from Mary.

Carter wants to be a normal girl. She isn't normal at all. Carter is half vampire and half human. She's the princess of her coven of vampires. Everyone thinks she's dead. She's not. She was taken in by her father's most trust friends. Carter grew up knowing who she was and what she is. Now being almost an adult, she wants more than anything to know more about who her mother was. She wishes to leave her vampire adopted family. Yet her heart is torn between wanting to know her mother and taking over the coven. As Carter plans to move in with her uncle, Jagger (the new coven's leaders' nephew) wants her and wants him as well.
