Claire is on her own now after turning 20 and finding that she wanted to get away from her Adoptive Parents' care. She travels to Europe Eton, Berkshire, England where the people seem more quiet and secretive than most she's met. Finding a nice apartment to live in she finds that the quiet life is nice, and the villagers don't seem all that bad. Well that's till she walks into a bar in hopes to find new friends and runs into the intimidating Mathis who seems to smile very little. When he takes an interest in her she begins to notice the strange howling and others in the village keeping in small groups. Some even casting her looks of suspicion.
After finding the reincarnation of his deceased mate Mathis can't keep calm. He wants answers as to why she stands before him with no recollection of him and seeming to have no interest in him-- but his Beta Brom. She even has the same birthmark as his mate and yet-- it isn't her. His determination to get answers and to have her love him goes beyond just curiosity, but need and obsession overwhelms him that he needs his answers.

Loki in a world of fake smiles and hidden masks, and Dace with his kind family and real parents that left him. "Hey Frankie what are you doing?" I hear my best friend in the world ask me as I sit on the school steps I then I take a deep breath as I answer her. I can remember that like it was yesterday as all the events from when we were kids to teenagers to adults, and the feelings that I've never known existed but was always there deep down as she lays there in the hospital room hanging on for her life as I sit in the waiting room as they do more testing And that's... i will always love her! "Grab that plate and throw it on the floor." I told him, handing him a plate. "Why am I---" "Just do it!" I yelled, trying to hold back the tears. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!"
