Brace for Impact

I knew it, the very minute my body hit the wall. I knew everything was changing.
I close my eyes as I feel my body slip sideways towards the ground. When the cold from the cement starts to seep through the right side of my shirt, I let my eyes open; and, I pray whatever change staring back at me is for better instead of worse.
