"Daniel please-" He growled cutting me off mid sentence; making it obvious that he's pissed beyond belief. I never knew that telling him my past would upset him, at least not like this. I thought that after all we've been through, after everything that we have told and done together, that it would be okay to open up to him. I've never told anyone this before and when I finally do, to Daniel Tyson, he gets more mad than I have ever seen anyone in my whole life. His body snaps towards me; his normally bright eyes are dark and full of emotion and his face is hard with anger. "Why didn't you tell me?!" Danny exclaims, making me flinch. "I'm so sorry, I thought-" I sob and his hands wrap around my wrist and yank. "You thought what?!" More hot tears go down my face. "I-" "You thought that I wouldn't care? That I wouldn't understand? Why can't you get it through your thick skull that I will ALWAYS care about you Nida?!" Suddenly, Danny's lips are crashed into mine. ••• Nida Vargas has been through hell and back trying to look out for her family and take care of herself at the same time. Imagine your father-a once honorable and loving man, now desperate and powerless-can no longer pay the unforgiving gambling debt he had stacked up for decades. And because he's unable to be that protective and respected father he once was, he sells his only daughter to a notorious Mexican gang leader as collateral just to save himself from death. As troubling as they may have been as a dream, that was the reality of 24-year-old Naomi Bennett. As soon as her birthday came around, she was bombarded with devastating news that she would no longer have control of her life. She was now owned by a random man due to an issue she had no association with, unable to escape or hide from his ruthlessness, conniving ways, and inhumane behavior. Since becoming the new leader of the Mexican gang, The Black Shadow, Santiago Alejandro de la Vega vowed to maintain that mysterious and demeaning atmosphere the organization has been carrying for years. He handled business as he saw fit: coldblooded, devious, haunting, and dirty. No one ever thought to play with him out of fear of what he could and would do if tried, except for one. A woman who was given to him as collateral, a hardheaded piece of property that angered every cell in his body and made his job more difficult than it had ever been. As badly as he wants to send her away to the mountains-avoid having to constantly deal with her attitudes and sass-Santiago finds her rebelliousness intriguing enough to keep her around. Emotions flare. Feelings emerge. Problems spark. The Devil holds rules and codes of conduct to keep himself and his team in line. Any rule broken is met with severe consequences. But he couldn't help but risk breaking one for her. Created: 12/31/21 Published: Ended:

What happens when the grandchildren of the rival families fall in love with each other? Love, honor, and respect. The motto has maintained the Torres crime family for decades. It's why they were always ten steps ahead of their adversaries. It's also why they were the most-feared crime family in all of New York. It's also why there was such a brotherhood between Pablo Torres, and his right-hand man/best friend, Clyde Lewis. The two men formed a solid bond when their children became best friends, attending each other's birthday parties, graduations, and other celebrations in a twenty-five year time span. The sons grew up to become mafia dons in their own right, controlling all of Harlem. But all good things must end. When an associate of the Torres's mistakenly takes out a member of the Lewis family, all love, honor, and respect is thrown out of the window and is replaced with hate, disappointment, and revenge. H.E.R. is a series of small novellas dealing with revenge, true love, and if time really heals. It's a modern-day retelling of Romeo and Juliet.
