He had to risk everything for one grudge that started decades ago. he knew this would break out to something bigger, to the point of there being a chance of losing his family too. "what are you thinking about father?" "Oh... n- nothing...now come on... lets return to the palace with your brothers" and what started as a surprise fight, would end in two part war.
