In the time that this story is set women are seen as house wives and secretaries, not as successful women who have a life for their own. Marie's family own a Uranium company in South Australia and she is the heiress to the fortune, her parents want her to be married off and have lots of children. Marie didn't know what she wanted until she met Charlie, he changed her life for the better.
This short story was written for a school assignment and hopefully in the future I may extend the story and make it into a novel

I never thought my life would be like this; trapped in a dark room and scared for my life. A blindfold was wrapped around my head, covering my eyes, making me completely blind and on high alert. My breathing was ragged and I could smell the mold that was most likely covering most of the room. If I was going to die, it would be with the name of my kidnapper.
