Amelia hasn't ever seen anything special about herself. She grew up in an orphanage and moved to Manhattan when she was young. After desperately wanting a job at The New York Times, she finally got an internship; however, it wasn't what she wanted. One late night, on a subway ride home, she meets a homeless-looking man that mutters strange words to her. Unusual, to say the least, things start happening, and Amelia is at the center of it all. Suddenly, Amelia realizes that she is more important than she had ever known; important to the survival of an entire species and planet.
