This is a short story-type piece that I wrote for my English class last year when I was practicing more suspenseful storytelling. It is a stand-alone piece and a lot of the surrounding plot is left to interpretation. It is an excerpt from an unwritten story. It is a scene where a girl and her friend are in her room, hiding from the antagonistic hooded figures. It is a short read and I would love feedback.

Trapped. No past, no name-only fragments of faces and voices remain. Strangely, she remembers her classmates, yet her own identity is a void. But they are not as she recalls. Their faces, their mannerisms, their very essence-changed. Twisted. Still, she clings to them, for they are her only link to the truth. "This is a school... but why is it always dark? Why does no one leave?" "We're trapped. Can't you see that?" She must escape. She wants to escape. But stepping outside alone is unthinkable. The unknown waits beyond these walls, and survival is uncertain. She searches for her classmates-only to realize they are few. "Only a few of us survived." Fear coils around her mind. Isolation. Casey, a 15 year-old highschooler is accidently no-clipped into the backrooms when on a trip with her friends, and finds herself in level fun =) after narrowly escaping a howler, and is nearly tricked and killed by partygoers here. However, a mysterious hooded entity saves her, and agrees to be her friend. They will attempt to travel these levels and escape, but they wont do it alone....
