Iris Lithe is the student teacher for Ms. Frank's elementary class. When the class decides to go on a field trip to the local hospital, things take a turn for the worst.
A deadly virus breaks out and no one knows what it is, or how to stop it as a whole portion of the city, including the hospital they are at, is quarantined off. 
Iris then meets a young officer by the name of Jake Riley who is also trapped in the quarantine. Iris must follow the rules to stay alive, but with no way to contact her family and growing feelings for Jake, all hope seems lost.
