It has been many moons since Ravenstar was defeated, but he is far from forgotten.
RobinClan is still haunted by the memory of the evil leader who ruled over the Clan for generations, his life long extended by the nine lives granted by StarClan, and his strength that allowed him to go so long without losing them. Though it has been many moons since his defeat, and since the Clan became "RobinClan"- named after the brave apprentice who sacrificed himself to defeat Ravenstar- all but the youngest apprentices still carry the scars, both physical and mental, of his tyranny and the war it took to end it.
And as the Clan begins to recover, the cats are shaken to their roots when Grayfeather- Ravenstar's daughter- has a litter of kits, and with her dying breath, names one "Ravenkit." The kit is almost the spitting image of his grandfather, and that- along with the fact that ravens and anything to do with them are still considered bad omens- is enough for cats to unsheath their claws. Considered bad luck to due his name, his pelt, and the fact that his birth caused his mother's death, Ravenkit is an outsider in his own Clan. The only thing standing between him and banishment or violence is Crowpaw, the medicine cat apprentice and Grayfeather's littermate, who promises that together, they will make Ravenkit's name become even more meaningful than the bloody legacy it carries now.
