War Of Worlds Book 1: Cross Between Lives

Oak is not a normal Undergrounder. He is normally kind, his wings are white and feathery, his pelt is a cinnamon orange with white markings. His mother was a Middlegrounder. But his father, the Emperor of the Underground, believes he still has high potential. But the years have slowly weathered away this thought. When Middlegrounder inhabitants suddenly begin to return after 100 years of the place being barren and burnt, Sillh sends Oak on one last quest to redeem himself. He must use his shapeshifting to hide amongst the Pegasus herds that have appeared and eliminate them. But Oak sees the good in the winged creatures and now must choose between his loyalty to his kingdom and the life reblossoming in the Middleground that could stand a chance. And there's no way to tell how anything will end.
