The War is won, and Hermione Granger is back at Hogwarts as an Eighth Year, feeling reckless and determined to shed her prim bookworm persona. Also returning is Draco Malfoy, universally hated but determined to restore his family's name. Hermione's hopes for a quiet school year are quickly dashed as she contends with mischievous First Years, killer plants, enchanted hair accessories, a totally inappropriate Moaning Myrtle, renegade Death Eaters, a nice vampire, a poorly named study group, a depraved party, and mysterious, threatening blood messages on the castle walls. We have redemption, partial redemption and (sadly or hilariously) no redemption at all. Throw in a snarky, disturbingly attractive Draco with his own secret agenda, and we have a very slow-burn Dramione with a side of who-dun-it. COMPLETE!

The world is not what it used to be and she has to manage her studies, while worrying about her parents, the loss of loved ones and a new friendship with Draco Malfoy. Harry has embraced a new lifestyle in muggle London which she doesn't one-hundred percent approve of despite understanding her bestfriend's reasons for avoiding the obligations and expectations of the Wizarding World. When Headmistress McGonagall offers them an opportunity to return to Hogwarts to complete their eighth year, Hermione begs Harry to join her. It is one year after Voldemort is defeated. Headmistress Mcgonagall invites students with unfinished educations to return if they would like. They will be known as Eighth Years. Hermione, of course, easily agrees and is actually excited. Ron and Harry would rather not go, but, of course, Mrs. Weasley is making them. All summer, Ron has been moody and distant. But lately, he's been rude and almost cruel towards Harry and Hermione. And when they arrive at Hogwarts, Ron starts acting possessive and abusive. Hermione was going to tell someone, but as much as she hated to admit it, she's clueless. She's hurting physically and emotionally. And worst of all, she's scared. She's backed into a corner and has no one to run to. Or does she?

A year after the war, Hogwarts has been rebuilt and the students have returned, including a temporary 'eighth year' class to make up from the time lost during the war. Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy have both returned, though neither is exactly the same after the events of the war. Harry has turned away from his Golden Boy exterior, no longer caring what others think and for the first time, doing what he wants. Draco just wants to move past the events of the war, to get this last year of school over with so he can move on with his life. Both have expectations placed upon them that they can't seem to live up to and maybe they don't want to either.

Harry Potter is going back to Hogwarts for his fifth year. But how will he cope with his worsening depression, especially with Voldemort back and out to get him. *Self Harm Warning* Eventual Drarry.
