The main character, Vera, is eighteen years old, and one of the cranks who live there. She and her brother has escaped a painful past and are now living with Jorge and Brenda in peace, or so they think. As the threat from WICKED grows stronger and strange things start to happen, she needs to make a decision, and question what she thought she knew.
