Kiera is finally accepted by the other riders at SkyHaven after being given to the herbalist of the nearest town. She develops a bond with a young dragon named Tempest and slowly becomes the best young rider in the region.
But not all is well. Other young riders become jealous, and Kiera is being shunned once more. When a terrible accident forces Tempest and Kiera away from society, they must find their way back... or perish.
