There was something not quite right about the window in their room.
After defeating Bill, Mabel and Dipper had returned home and continued life as normally as they could. The only differences being that Mabel now thought through plans more thoroughly and Dipper had become more adventurous and confident. They had both been through horrible things in Gravity Falls, but that didn't stop them from going back every summer.
And every summer, the feeling that something was off increased. Dipper was the first to notice it on their fourth summer back.

The last day Mabel and their parents saw him was one day before school. And haven't seen him since. All Mabel found in his room was a note. It was obviously a clue but she was never good at figuring this stuff out dipper was. But when she did get it the answer frightened her slightly bringing back memories. Bill Cipher Dipper went back to Gravity falls months before they were supposed to. Why did he leave a note about Bill? Did they make a deal? Did Bill posses him again? Dipper and Mabel haven't been to gravity falls in 5 years. With Ford and Stan off on there adventures, there was no home for them there anymore. Nobody outside of the town heard a pep about weirdmageddon, or Bill. Now Ford and Stan have returned for the summer, and Mabel and Dipper get to go back too. Meanwhile, Bill has fallen on some bad luck. Time baby was not pleased when he returned. Bill's memories were erased and he was turned into a 18 year old human. Placed in gravity falls again, with only one thing. A note. "The mystery shack has answers." Now that Stan and Ford are running the mystery shack for the summer, Soos gets a summer off.
