Yuna Hyakuya is a 20 year old student living in her home city of Osaka, she is one of only 200 deer-shifters left on the planet; most of them died due to hunters. She is studying to become a Japanese to English translator and she is due to move to America to further her studies but is wary because of her boyfriend Rye who she has been dating for two years going on three. She almost decides to stay until she finds Rye cheating on her with one of her closest friends. Heartbroken, Yuna moves to America only 2 weeks later, where she distracts herself with her studies and ask herself why this happened to her.
